Scrap the Boys Design Team and February Challenge

Good Morning! I am super excited to be starting work with the Scrap the Boys Design Team this month. I have loved watching and seeing all of their challenges over the past year and I am SO excited to be playing along now. This month, the challenge is to create a layout about something NEW. There are so many different ways to interpret this challenge which is part of the fun. I thought about creating something about new Christmas gifts or new goals for the year. I also could have created a layout about a new school year, playing a new sport, or new adventures whether big or small. I decided to create a layout about a small part of our travel adventures that we look forward to as a family...trying new restaurants and foods in new locations. You can see the layout I created below as well as watch the process video for more detailed information and my thought process.

I used two different boy product lines that I have been enjoying working with lately. One is from Crate Paper called Cool Kid and the other is from Bella Blvd. called Alex. Both collections coordinate really well together and allowed me to add in little elements from my older product stash which always makes me happy!

I hope that you enjoyed my take on this month's challenge and that you will visit the design team page to check out what the rest of the design team created. Please play along this month and share your work so that I can see what you are creating for the boys in your life as well. Happy Crafting!!

Use Your Stuff: Animal Challenge

Happy Monday!
Welcome to another challenge from the Use Your Stuff challenge blog. This week, we have been challenged to create a layout with some sort of animal theme. Whether you choose to scrap animal pictures, use cute animal ephemera, or include some kind of animal print is up to you! I do have a process video for this layout as well so make sure to stop by my channel and check that out too!!

I chose to work with this adorable photo of my youngest son who surprised me in the store one day with this tiger hat and mitts. He came up behind me and yelled "RRAAAWWWWRRRR" and it was just the cutest darn thing you have ever seen!

The minute that I saw this challenge, I knew this photo and story would be perfect! The Crate Paper Cool Kid collection still remains one of my favorites for documenting the stories of my boys and I am running low on goodies from it as I have created so many layouts with it already.

For this layout, I included a black and white background from Dear Lizzy's Saturday collection and added some hand stitching to make it my own and add some extra dimension.  I then added a lot of different details from the sticker sheet, 6x6 patterned paper pad, and some puffy stickers. I also used up a few old Studio Calico chipboard stars that have been in my stash forever. Anytime I get to use old things from my stash, I consider it a win win!!

Here's the process video for this layout as well...

Please stop by and check out the process video where I show you how it all came together! I would love if you watch, like, comment, and subscribe so that I can keep bringing you lots of free content! Please also make sure to check out the Use Your Stuff blog to see what the rest of the design team created and to leave us a link to your own project for this challenge. Happy Crafting!!

CRAFT Challenge #400 Love, Valentine's Day

Happy Thursday!

Welcome back to another week of CRAFT challenges. This week, we have been challenged to create a love or Valentine's Day themed project. As usual, I like to create cards that are quick and easy but still show an interesting look.

I took a plain white cardstock base and added some dimensional texture paste (Heidi Swapp Teal)  thru a heart stencil to create the background. I also added a few polka dots with red Stickles to the background. I then layers two different doilies (one gold and one white). On top of this, I placed a glassine bag and then layered three different sized Valentine's tags to the card. I punched a few gold glitter hearts to add some additional sparkle and finished the tags with some black baker's twine. I love that little hedgehog tag on the front so I wanted that to be center stage. I included both photos so that you could see the tiny tag that is inserted into the glassine bag.

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope that you check out the projects from the rest of the design team over at CRAFT and also share a project of your own with us for this week's challenge. Happy Crafting!

CRAFT Challenge #399 Christmas

Happy Thursday!

It's time for another CRAFT challenge and this week, we are revisiting Christmas. I grabbed some leftover supplies from my Christmas stash before I put it all away and created this fun shaker card. I grabbed a Christmas tag and backed it with two different patterned papers. I then pulled out a bunch of snowflakes from the coordinating ephemera pack. I added some sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps to the 4x6 packet and sealed it up easily on the back. Those 4x6 fuse pockets are perfect for creating quick and easy shaker pockets.

Thanks so much for visiting! Make sure to head on over to the CRAFT website to check out the Christmas creations from the rest of the design team and to leave us a link to a Christmas project that you have created. Happy Crafting!!

CRAFT Challenge #398: Box or Bag

Happy Thursday!

Welcome back to another week of CRAFT challenges. This week, we are being challenged to create a project with either a box or a bag. I decided to show a recent project that I have been working on to create candy goodie bags for Valentine's Day.

To create this look, I took a glassine bag and filled it with small pieces of individually wrapped candy. I then took a cut file that I had previously used and decreased it in size to make it the right size for the project. I backed each section of the cut file with a different patterned paper. I then took a 4 inch doily and colored it with mists in matching colors. Add a few thicker stickers to the bottom of the bag. Super easy! Last step....layer it all together and clip it with a glittered clothespin.

I hope that you will visit us over at CRAFT and check out the creations from the rest of the design team as well as to share a project that you create for this challenge. Happy Crafting!!

All of the flair on the layout came from Cuts2Luv and from the SpiegelMom Scraps store I used the Wedding Bells sequin mix as well as the eight inch lace doilies. CRAFT Challenge #397 Recipe

Happy Thursday and welcome to another round of CRAFT challenges. For this week, we were challenged to use a recipe to create our project. The recipe includes: one image, two papers, and three flowers. As you can see, I added a couple of extra flowers to this design but I just love how it turned it.

As always, I kept with my theme of quick and easy cards. The main oval card is from a Ruby Violet journaling notecard set. I added a few diecut flowers and leaves and put dimensional adhesive behidn the smaller ones to make them pop off the card. I then pulled out my most favorite alphabet stamps from Crafty Jen Schow for Felicity Jane and used those to stamp the "hello spring" title. I also grabbed a sediment stamp and added that to the top. I chose a couple of patterned paper pieces to mount the entire card front on and I was done. Quick, easy, and super cute!

I hope that you will join us this week and create your own project with our recipe. Do stop by and check out the creations from the rest of the design team. Make sure to share what you create over on the CRAFT blog!!
